Budget Inn Express Bristol Virginia

It was not worth no $600.00 for two nights. I will never use Booking.com again, when I rented this room for the weekend said there were only 2 rooms left so we got one of them, then a few days later I checked then it said sold out, my foot, first night we were the only ones on the back side of the hotel then there might have been 6 cars the next night. All they did was price gouge everybody over the baseball game at Bristol. Then the shower sucked, here's a video of the shower and room, only thing I can say that it was clean,I feel like I should get some of my money back.

The owners are a husband and wife couple who've owned it for over 20 years and take great pride in their property to the travelers passing through. Between the two of them, they pretty much do everything and work hard to provide a comfortable stay for their guests. While it may look dated, the motel recently underwent noticeable amd major renovations. Everything from the brand new memory foam mattresses that had us sleeping like babies to the heating and air conditioning unit that worked quickly to adjust the room's temperature to our liking. FYI, the breakfast is continental with a variety of grab and go options. We come twice a year to the area for the Nascar race and plan to stay here for any future overnight stays. The proximity to the track and coming from the North meant no traffic on race day which was a huge bonus for us!

Everything was fine! I paid for two rooms for some guys. When they arrived that night, the receptionist wouldn't let them in because they said they could only sleep there with an American passport—a completely racist act. I'm trying to contact the place, but it's impossible. They're a mess and unpleasant. And they didn't cancel the two rooms either.

Couldn’t even get a room. You’re better off going next door, like we ended up doing. We parked and were instantly greeted by a man shouting across the parking lot telling us “You need to leave! You can’t park here!” as he seemed to be typing something on his cell phone. We tried to ask him why and if he would talk to us at all. He continued to interrupt us and yell saying “I’m calling the police!”. I can see why the hotel next door was almost fully booked and this place was almost completely empty. These owners come over and yell at you to leave before you can even walk inside the building.

Stayed one night during race weekend when rates everywhere are multiplied several times over. Called mid afternoon to ensure no issue with a late night checkin, she took my info and assured me we were set. Fast forward and there was some inconvenience at checkin due to uncontrollable circumstances on their end but we did get in and the room was surprisingly well maintained and relatively updated in recent years from what is shown in the older pictures here. A manager called us a short while later to continue apologize and explaining the issue… wasn’t needed but appreciated anyway. Ended up having a Ford Transit van of Canadians stage a parking lot parking at midnight in the empty space directly in front of our door, between their van and our vehicle. To include an extremely loud (and admittedly good quality) speaker blasting everything from techno to rock to country. That was lovely. But with my toddler with me, and him sleeping without issue, I figured it best not to risk being confrontational. More surprised that, being 3 doors down from the front desk (no pun intended), the employee didn’t shut it down instantly. At check out in the morning, the same employee from before was apologetic again, and a gentleman (may have been the one from the phone) also came out and insisted on showing me something of proof of the situation they had the night prior, while they also insisted on providing a small refund amount for the inconvenience. I felt bad for how bad THEY felt, but again, truly appreciate that they cared that much that they present a positive service or provide a good experience. You really don’t expect any of that from a “one star motel.”||Location leaves something to be desired but honestly, it seemed my general impression of the town after dark and not just isolated to this motel. The lot and exterior breezeways are very well lit. ||Still, we ended up getting a decent night’s sleep. The mattresses were quite surprisingly comfortable. Shower pressure was solid and hot water was HOT. AC wasn’t on but very quickly cooled the room. Fridge was unplugged so wouldn’t have been much use if staying a single night but it was clean and available along with a microwave. Rooms have clearly had fresh, quality paint in recent years and all carpeting replaced with vinyl floors. The free breakfast in the lobby area wasn’t much but far beyond anything expected of a motel in this range, so we appreciated being able to grab something adequate as we hit the road. I’ve stayed in notable name brand chains that were distrusting, and had low expectations of this place but actually it was pretty pleasant for just needing a place to crash for a night or two.

Front desk person was not accommodating at all. Showers had no water pressure and the water was either extremely hot or very cold no in between. Bed was uncomfortable with a plastic cover that slid and crinkled with every movement because there was no fitted sheet to keep it from sliding. Pets are welcome with additional fee but a deposit is also required that they refund in the morning after 7 a.m when they open the doors. so we were unable to leave earlier unless we forfeited the deposit. There are much better motels out there and this traveler will be avoiding budget inn express in the future.

The rooms are nice and clean especially for the price. The service people are very caring and nice. Also the location is good. You have the main city of Bristol but also 30 minutes away from Johnson City and Kingsport. The noise in the area is not bad at all even though you're off the highway. It's a nice place to stay for sure.

Came in to town for a family funeral, so needed a place to shower and rest. The room is tidy but old furniture and smells of musty, mildew . The bathroom was nasty,the tub was brown stained up. Asked to cancel the reservation, clerk said no problem, I want you to be happy with the room. So that was the only good thing about the place.
