The place was awesome!! First thing coming through the door the hostess greets you with a warm welcome! Our waitress crystalle was just as warm and welcoming. Food was on point hot and fresh. Also the matcha drink and pumpkin spice drink we ordered were amazing. 10 out of 10 do recommend!!

First time visiting the Texas Grill and Cafe. Becky came over and visited with us and took our order. She was very friendly and polite. Even gave us a history lesson about the place. There was so much to choose from on the menu, it took a minute to decide. But we did. The food was great,even took a banana pudding home. If you are driving through Shepherd, TX, be sure to stop on bye.It's definitely worth getting off the freeway for.

Great spot for an awesome burger! Cooked to order goodness for sure! Was hard to not order the hand battered chicken fried steak, but it doesn't come on the jalapeño cheese bun that their burger comes on if ya ask... great staff, friendly & attentive, y'all stop by & tell em Connie sent ya! Be blessed in your travels & enjoy a cooked to order meal if you're nearby! Ride Safe Y'all!

Tried for the first time tonight. Really nice little Cafe with really good service. The hamburger was dry and the seasoned fries weren't good at all. My fish and chips was good ( minus the fries) and the fried green tomatoes were really good. We will try one more time amd order something else. But the owner needs to step up the burgers at this place for sure for the price.

I’ve never had an elk burger but I don’t think I ever will again. That was the driest piece of meat I’ve ever put in my mouth. I think the cook over cooked the patty for sure. Waitress was very nice & it’s a cool place. I’ll come back but definitely order something else.

While passing through the area, we found Texas Grill and Cafe. We are glad we did! The service was top notch, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. But the food is why we stopped. We read good reviews, and that helped decide on stopping. I had the split cheeseburger, and I asked for half white and half brown gravies. It was a very unusual hamburger, cut in half with a scoop of mash potatoes between them. It was very good, I personally liked the brown gravy. I also ordered some onion rings, I really like onion rings, I have had hundreds of from many different restaurants. I would say these were in my top 10 onion rings. A nice, light batter on fresh cut onions that was cooked to a nice crispy batter. Deb had a children's hamburger, which was perfect for her. She also the big French fries called house fries. The was hamburger was good, and the fries were really good. We split them so we each had rings and fries. We really enjoyed our meal, we left completely satisfied!

Stopped here on my way to Louisiana from south Houston. Great service. Very small town but very good food! Burger was good! Mac and cheese bites were my favorite. And the dessert options to top it off! Thank you Texas Grill and Cafe!
