I heard of this farm through a friend who took me trail riding here. It’s so hard to find western barns in the Lexington area because all you get is Hunter/Jumpers and TB Racing. It was SO NICE to sit in a western saddle again and go back to my original roots instead. The staff is just absolutely the friendliest and chatty around and Brittany was so nice to talk to us a bit before we left regarding lesson packages and other events they hold on the property. I was very impressed by how well behaved every horse was and not to mention how amazing it is that they were all rode out in hackamore/bosal type bridles with NO bits with complete strangers riding. If that doesn’t tell you how well trained and mannered their horses are! I will definitely be back. Such amazing hospitality, they treat you like family, horses are well taken care of and everything is so nicely affordable which is a breath of fresh air for those currently struggling financially. 10/10 recommend!

I love everything about Deer Run! The horses are well taken of. The owner and employees are amazing. Whether you’ve never been close to a horse or you are an expert rider, Deer Run has something to offer you!! The trail rides are so fun and relaxing! Perfect place to go solo or take your whole fam!

Today a dream came full circle. I wanted a mule, momma bought me one…. a young and rambunctious one that needed a lot of work, 4 months ago I discovered stepping stone ranch (deer run stables) here in town. Brittany took Arthur and I on and started us from the bottom. I could not be happier with this journey of the both of us learning. this little 4yr old mule has become something great! I cannot express how thankful I am for meeting the deer run family, I can also not come up with the words needed to tell you just how great Brittany is at training horses, and now she can proudly say mules to!

It is a perfect place to know the all about ride horse . Everything is so nice,very kind people and helpful.my kids 4.5yand2.5Y had a great time, beautiful place,nice view.and the horse are trained very well,so friendly with little kids.

The Mindfulness workshop with horses made me feel connected to myself and the horses. Johna is a gifted guide who made the experience a powerful memory that I won’t soon forget. I highly recommend it to anyone who feels fragmented or distracted!
