Central Hotel

Stayed here twice and I love it. It’s good location, friendly staff, easy check in, lovely rooms with fridge and a microwave! The only things I’d comment on is bed bugs.. we had a couple of red bugs crawling in our bed which isn’t great but apart from that it’s quite, great location, near all the shops and train station. Reasonable sized bedroom but the rules are crazy like ‘£100 fine for opening the window’

Rooms were fine, locations was very scatty (did not feel safe parking my care around there), staff were friendly, but there was constantly a fire alarm that kept going off which meant we basically had no sleep for a week. Someone kept bursting into our room in the middle of the night to attempt to fix the fire alarms but they never would.

We stayed at Central Hotel Gloucester hoping for a restful night, but it was anything but that. The fire alarm went off multiple times throughout the night and early morning – around 12:30am, 3am, 6am, 8am, and 8:15am. We went downstairs the first time expecting an explanation or apology, but the receptionist said nothing. We only found out the alarms were faulty by overhearing another guest’s conversation with the staff. we both desperately needed proper rest, and this completely disrupted our stay. The lack of sleep and constant disturbance made the entire experience extremely stressful and uncomfortable. When we raised the issue with the hotel, they first offered a £15 credit, then increased it to £40, but only as credit toward a future stay – with no option of a refund. This is unacceptable, as we do not plan to return after such poor treatment and handling of the situation. A faulty alarm going off all night is bad enough. But the lack of care, communication, and accountability from the roomsbooked customer service was even worse. If you’re looking for a peaceful, respectful stay – especially if you value your rest – I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!! Went there for my birthday paid £70 for a room I got there and I got told I would have to pay a £100 DEPOSIT which I HAVE STILL NOT GOT BACK!! Room was awful it was dirty the carpet was coming up and the bathroom was VERY unclean!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Worst hotel I have EVER stayed in ABSOLUTELY APPALLED!!

We stayed for 3 days, and it was a great location for exploring Gloucester and the surrounding area. We used the suggested car park across the road, and it is also within a couple of minutes walk of the train and bus stations. Our first impression wasn't great. The exterior is shabby, and the check in process was quite fiddly, but the rooms were absolutely fine. Nice bed, bathroom. Fun watching the seagulls out of the window. The price was good, the staff were friendly, and I have no criticisms to make.

As with others, we also had some reservations about staying here after reading some reviews and obviously can't speak for other experiences. However we found the check in easy and staff excellent. Our bags were tagged and taken to our rooms later. The rooms themselves were very clean, spacious and a great shower and nice bathroom. Good to have a microwave, fridges, plates and cutlery if you wanted to bring your own food. The price of the room had been hiked for cheltenham week, but normally the rate is very competent. This is mainly due to the hotel not having any other facilities such as a restaurant, bar etc. However the cafe across the road was excellent and again very reasonable. Good location for this hotel and you can stay overnight in the kings walk car park, which opens again at 7.00an the next day and we were charged £9 for 24 hours. Would recommend this hotel and will return.

In the strictest terms this is not a hotel, no bar, no restaurant so no food available. However as room only accommodation it is very good. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. Check in was simple. but you do need phot ID for at least one guest.|In terms of location it is ideally placed for all the restaurants and attractions. We would use this accommodation again

This place is absolutely terrible. |Room no 308 you can’t open the windows so hot makes a suana look cold. Un bearable. |They didn’t need to put duvet on the bed as you’ll kill yourself with the heat. I’d rather be locked up and have a night in the cells. |Wasn’t even cheap. Never go back I’m going to get arrested so I can stay in h m p it’s better.
