10/10 experience we were so happy (and FULL) when we left. The service from all of the team was top notch as well. Very attentive and couldn't do more to help. The food choice for the buffet was insane. Lots of curry choices including Red Thai, pizza, Sushi, fruit. You also get starters bought to your table. I wouldn't say ideal for Children as all of the food is flavoured with mostly Indian style flavouring. The prawns with the cinnamon pineapple 👌I think it was cinnamon anyway... I don't know how this restaurant wasn't packed out! Totally worth a visit and we will all be returning soon. x

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They clearly explained what we would be having. Shisha is good. We ask some questions about the flavor and the staff is willing to answer it as well. They also helped replace the charcoal when needed. The atmosphere was great, great place for a group of friend.The use of charcoal BBQ added a nice smoky flavor to the food. Prices were reasonable, and the alcoholic drinks were especially good value. However, the food was a bit disappointing. It didn’t fully match what was advertised on the website. Quite a lot of food choice, but a lot of dishes were Indian-style and heavily curry-based. The BBQ items were also seasoned in indian style spices as well. The food was a bit too salty, and dessert options were quite limited. That said, the fruit was fresh and sweet. This is a relatively new restaurant in the town. I hope they can do some improvement and I can leave a good review if I visit agian.

BBQ lounge is the most fabulous little gem of The Hythe. We were welcomed by the most polite and helpful staff you could wish for, they could not have been more attentive. We loved the table-top bbq and selection of starters on the table, as well the buffet selection. We could have finished our meal there, but so glad we didn't! The selection of mains is wide enough for everyone to find something to suit them. The Lamb Saag is exceptional, with melt in the mouth chucks of lamb in a mild curry, which is the best I've had in Colchester, but my favourite had to be the Prawn and mango curry, a sweet and savoury mild dish packed with delicious prawns. Also recommend the Katsu chicken, lemon chicken starter, and bbq Paneer. Thank you BBQ Lounge, see you soon.

My hubby had a great Father's Day celebration here (my daughter's treat😋). Reasonably priced 3-course buffet at £29 which included all you can eat (with meat skewers, pineapple , chips as starters), buffet included a range of Indian and Asian cuisines, pasta, pizza and lasagna and sushi. Limited range for desserts (cakes were moist and fruits were good). Staff were friendly and accommodating (apologies were offered with about 17 minutes' wait for the skewers, but worth waiting for what you get for the bbq in-door experience!). Ambience was good and restaurant nicely decorated. Worth visiting and coming back for 👍

We had a lovely time at the BBQ Lounge and Shisha. The food was delicious and there was so much included. The service was amazing, the waiters were so attentive and even brought out more choices for my children. The restaurant is beautiful inside. We will definitely be back!

We went for a lunch on this particular day to try it and it was a Saturday. There was noone else there but place seemed nice so we went in and tried a platter of meats with sides of both sweet and normal potato chips as well as garlic bread. Chips were nice and chicken was nice. Lamb on the smaller grill platter was barely worth having as was no meat on the bone barely. The garlic bread was extremely hard so I couldn't eat it all. The meats were generally nice. Drinks were a little expensive if I'm honest. The problem was all the tables had a grill area in the middle which we didn't use this time but this meant a large hole in the table that we had to eat around which was a little silly. Overall food was ok but prawns and some chicken were to charcoal but edges. Would perhaps go back but food tasted nice too.

The staff went above and beyond, they were friendly, attentive and ready with recommendations. Mohammed was extremely helpful provided excellent service and checked in on us regularly to see if we needed anything. The vibe was immaculate!
