This ice cream was worth the flight from Utah. Prices were good, service was great, ice cream was fantastic and the apple crisp with ice cream was amazing. Not too sweet with a perfect balance of apples and crisp and ice cream. So good!!! The decor was adorable too.

Visited Fredericks with the family for the first time after many recommendations from friends and family. Queues were quite long but luckily we got there before more people started coming and ice cream was definitely worth the wait! Ice cream flavours we chose were very nice and flavourful. Many flavours were available, including vegan options and flavours i have never even heard of! A handful of different ice cream cones to choose from too. Parking was a tiny bit of a walk which on a hot sunny day is no problem for us. We will definitely be back soon!

Probably the tastiest ice cream I’ve had in Manchester! The queue was quite long and I had to park a bit further away, but it was absolutely worth it. I chose the toffee fudge and chocolate brownie flavors, loved it!

I enjoyed two scoops, Bueno and Amarena, topped with crunchy nuts. Both flavours were sweet and creamy, with Amarena’s cherry notes standing out. The seating area was comfortable and clean, perfect for relaxing. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.

After getting recommended Frederick’s multiple times, we decided to give them a try. Sadly, we were very disappointed with our visit. It is difficult to find a place to park as it is on a busy main road with limited parking, so you may have to park a distance away which isn’t ideal. The shop itself is very small and cramped, which I found rather anxiety inducing. I was surprised by how small it was as it looks much bigger online and from the outside. We got a crepe and a waffle. While they looked amazing, the crepe was crispy and chewy, which made it more like a tortilla than a crepe. The waffle was fine, but it was the ice cream that really let us both down. It tasted cheap, like you could get it at a supermarket. We tried the lotus ice cream and the chocolate ice cream. The lotus was just vanilla with pieces of lotus biscuits mixed in, and I noticed a few blue streaks in it, as well as it tasting off, which suggested to me that the scoops hadn’t been cleaned/rinsed properly between uses. My partner said his ice cream tasted the same, also having an odd taste. I’m sure that at least a few of the flavours here are great, but it really does suggest quantity over quality to me if they can’t get chocolate right, a classic flavour. Sadly we will not be returning as I have had much better ice cream from other local places. I will say that the staff were friendly and helpful, so no issues there, but it was a disappointing trip.

If you’re going for anything other than ice cream I’d not bother. I ordered a Toffee Bakewell Blondie and it came with a lot of fluff on it, as you could imagine it was very off putting. The queuing system is absolutely atrocious too, people push in front of you left right and centre and the staff just serve them. However, when the staff DO serve you they are lovely. If fluffy food and people pushing in front of you ticks off your boxes then please go here.

If you're looking for authentic gelato then you'll definitely find it at Frederick's! The queue can be long but it's always worth the wait. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the range of ice cream flavours is amazing and the best for me is that they do vegan ice cream that is absolutely delicious.
