Cherry Burton Leisure Park

Stayed for 4 nights. Came close to leaving after the first night due to lack of sleep. Site was clean and well kept. Toilet and shower facilities spotless so all was looking good for a nice stay. Pitch was near road that didn't look very busy and coming from a big city we are used to road noise. At approx 8 to 9 pm the road becomes a race track with boy races with very loud exhausts flying past next to caravan at crazy speeds to the early hours. Then at 6.30 the morning traffic starts. The site was quiet and apart from several seasonal pitches that were not being used. We on saw 3 other couple using the site. Why when site was so quiet the owners didn't put us on the pitches away from the road I don't know. This would have been quieter for us and encouraged us to come back to what could be a very nice site. The owners cannot be responsible for the road noise or the boy racers but the are responsible for placing you on a pitch next to the road when others are available. We had set the caravan up by the time we found out about the noise so didn't want the hassle of moving again.We will not be returning to this site unfortunately.

Liked: A mainly a well maintained campsite in close proximity to the beautiful town of Beverley, which is a town well worth visiting. Nice club house and very reasonable prices too . We quite enjoyed the tribute act as entertainment on Friday night, although we usually like to just sit in a peaceful location, but a good change for us. This place really has great potential. We were very happy to have a large pitch which got the sun, as requested! Staff were nice here too. Disliked: Just felt it needed finishing .We looked out on to a bit of land with some builders rubble. Sure it will be great when finished. Also a bit close to rather busy roads and one you had to cross to get to the nearby village, The traffic did not disturb us at night though. We didn't bother crossing the main road to the village. Happy to use the club with its lovely terrace. Neighbours were rather loud, something we have never experienced as always use quiet and peaceful sites that check on the noise. Someone's dog peed on our tent and windbreak on two occasions!! but this isn't the site's fault ! I do think there is a need for some toilets on their own, as you can sometimes queue a little as the loos are in the shower rooms.

Liked: Lodge was perfect with everything you need, a lot bigger than it looks on the photos. Lodge was clean and everything was in good condition. Location was great, the grounds were spacious and peaceful, the close by village a 5 minute walk away. Local village had a nice local pub, duck pond and playground. Beverley was a short drive away, we walked there in around an hour. Staff minimal but all friendly. Pub/marquee on site(when open) , good toilets and showers although didn’t need them, and camping facilities. Disliked: Evening entertainment/ bar opening times… bank holiday Saturday the bar didn’t open until 6 and was so quiet, hardly a soul in there. Bank holiday Sunday, was really disappointed that there was no bar open when we walked down at 8pm, nothing open, all very quiet!!! Singer on Saturday night was really good, but more for a very old generation of people 80 years plus, singing old 50s and 60s songs. Booking stated “bed made up” with a tick next to it, but had to make the bed up when we arrived. Not a big deal but not something I enjoy doing at home let alone on holiday.

Just spent 2 nights at cherry burton leisure park, camped and had a great electric pitch. Bathrooms are super modern and clean and the bar was great, loved the local band playing on Saturday night. Pizzas in the bar were awesome. Checking in was easy and quick and we were able to extend the stay so we could let the tent dry. All the staff were lovely and the site is nice and quiet 100% recommend this site, we will be coming back!

Liked: Stayed for a weekend, motorhome grass pitch ,site is very nice ,clean well maintained and the owners are very nice ,helpfull and always around to help .Stayed on many sites over the last 25yrs but I must say the toilet/ shower facilities are exceptionally clean and modern, the best I've ever seen on a site .Enjoyed a local band on the Saturday night in the onsite venue ,music great and the bar has a good supply of varied drinks ,really enjoyed it .Had a couple of bacon sandwiches on the Sunday morning from the bar/cafe . The location is great ,walked along the old railway line path next to the site ,doubled back trough the village ,called at the local for a pint and back to the site ,nice and level easy walk only about an hour steady away. Would definitely recommend and will be returning at some point . Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. The lodge was perfect. It was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We visited the bar and my husband loved the homemade pizza. Disliked: The tv aerial couldn’t receive many channels but wasn’t a massive issue.

Liked: I liked everything about the place. Really friendly staff, immaculately clean and tidy grounds, toilets and showers are spotless and modern. Was a last minute booking as passing through but was really pleased. 10 min walk into the village to a nice pub too. Disliked: Nothing to dislike at all.

Liked: The toilet/shower facilities were the best I've ever seen on a campsite. The site was very clean and very well looked after. It was very well lit on an evening if you had to get up through the night. There is a marquee with a bar and food and stage for entertainment. Would definitely go back and would recommend to others Disliked: Maybe a few extra separate toilets without the showers because if the shower/toilet block was occupied with people showering you had to wait until they became free
